THE RAPTOR PLACEMENT TOOL FOR RELEASE
THE RAPTOR PLACEMENT TOOL FOR RELEASE
Welcome! This tool was created to support the selection of appropriate release sites for rehabilitated raptor species within the Charlotte Metropolitan Area, USA. The models include factors important to the long-term survival of the species including landcover and habitat preferences, threats such as road density and injured raptor density, and the species density across the area.
Below, you can select which species you are interested in finding a release site for. You will be redirected to a webpage with the release suitability maps. For information on the map layers and use, refer to the User Guide tab.
For questions or additional details, email Hannah Partridge at hpartrid@charlotte.edu and stay tuned for the article describing the project coming soon.
